Aims
This unit of study aims to introduce data acquisition systems used for converting real-world signals to digital data with a focus on practical experience. It provides the basics of sensors, digital electronics, signal processing as well as the programming skills to implement data processing and presentation.
Unit Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully complete this Unit should be able to:
1. Describe and apply the basics of data acquisition system design
2. Design and implement a data acquisition project
3. Evaluate a range of engineering sensors and signal processing
4. Demonstrate programming skills in data processing, analysis and presentation
5. Demonstrate teamwork skills to implement a specific project, safely execute experiments, generate high quality engineering report and deliver professional presentations
