A2: Creating a Digital Campaign

Length: 1500 word Campaign Strategy + 5-6 exemplar posts/images/short videos

Date due: Monday 3 November, 11.59pm

Select one of the social issues from the second half of this subject (OR you may select an issue of your own choosing, with approval from your tutor). Create a digital campaign strategy that includes examples of digital assets from this proposed campaign.

Your campaign strategy should include the following information:

1. Background: Provide an overview of the social movement and a summary of existing digital campaigns in thisl area. What are some of the weaknesses and benefits of the current approaches? Draw on scholarly literature from the subject as well as your own further research to support your arguments. This background information is important and this section should be at least 50% of your strategy document.

2. Goals: Give an overview of your proposed campaign and its goals for addressing/intervening in the social issue.

3. Strategy: Present your strategy, including details such as: What channels will you use and why? How is your action suited to the affordances of the platform? What are your goals for visibility, spreadability and growth? How are you seeking to engage audiences and community members?

4. Digital assets: Include examples of what your campaign will look like with digital assets (e.g. posts, infographics, short videos) that demonstrate your strategy.

5. Reflection: How does your campaign reflect global or local cultural values, and does this have an impact on your proposed design, audience engagement and/or spreadability?
