GRADING POLICIES
Grading is based on a points-earned system. For each graded assignment, you will be provided with a rubric that breaks down the assignment into measurable criteria with points assigned for each component. I will calculate your final grade by taking the number of points you earned throughout the entire course and dividing it by the total points available.
This percentage will be used to assign a letter grade based on the following scale:
A 94 - 100%
A- 90 - 93%
B+ 88 - 89%
B 84 - 87%
B- 80 - 83%
C 70 - 79%
F 69% and below
It is a program policy that we do not round up grades. I will generally grade assignments within one week of their due dates.
In terms of expectations for your assignments, there are grading rubrics for each of the assignments. You can find these under the "Assignments" tab in Canvas and in this syllabus.
Work for this class must be new. You may not submit work you have developed for other courses.
All research used for class assignments must be in English and accessible to the instructor.
Please be sure to submit any written work as a .doc or a .docx file (and NOT a PDF) so that I can make line- item suggestions while grading if necessary. All work for this class should be typed, double-spaced, spell-checked, have one-inch margins, and use an 11- or 12-point font. Use APA citation and formatting.
Late work will not be accepted. If you have extenuating circumstances or need special accommodations, please contact me before the due date to discuss it. Work is due at the time specified on the assigned date. Times listed are in the Eastern time zone.
Students are responsible for ensuring that the proper submission is uploaded to Canvas. I will grade what I receive.
