Instructions to Students:

This  assessment is the  student’s individual work.  Students need to write about their individual effort they have put into acquiring the research knowledge, and how they have used this knowledge to write up your research study in the Honours Project. It is each student’s own responsibility to report your true individual contribution. Do not write about the work done by the whole group, or the work done by other group members.

Background and Purpose of Assignment

Students  should  provide  a  title  of the  research  study  in  the  Honours  Project,  and  aim  and rationale for undertaking the study. Choose ONE aspect of the methodology section that was done and lead by you. This can include the following: (1) Sampling, (2) Data collection procedure, (4) Ethical considerations, and (4) Data analysis. The student is required to write about the research principles and knowledge that you have used to do that aspect of the methodology. Literature should be used to support the research knowledge that has been mentioned, where appropriate.  Students should recall the knowledge of research methodology that has  already been taught in the research courses. This can include:

    Describe what is the method/ approach used.

    Describe why choose method/ approach among other choices.

    Describe how the method/ approach/ materials were done/ used, for e.g. recruit the participants/ collect the data/ ensure ethical principles/ follow the steps for data analysis.

    Describe  and justify  the  steps  taken  and  the  decisions  you  have  made  in  that  aspect  of the methodology.
