Course Description: This course will introduce students to contemporary information systems (IS) and     demonstrate how these systems are used in global organizations. Students will gain an understanding of the key components of information systems (people, software, hardware, data, and procedures) and      how these can be integrated and managed to create a competitive advantage. Students will also learn    how information is used in organizations and how information technology (IT) enables improvement in   quality, speed, and agility.

Pre-requisite/program: CPS 1032, ACC 2200, MGS 2030, MATH 1044

At the completion of the course students will demonstrate the ability to:

Apply skills in current office software and business communication. (CSLO 5)

Instructional Methods

Students who are enrolled in an online course will experience no in-person meeting requirements as all course content, reading/resources, class discussions, assessments, assignments, feedback and                 communications occur entirely online through a Learning Management System. At Kean University we  are utilizing Blackboard Learn, which we refer to as Virtual Classroom.”

This online course is taught using a variety of technological instruction that is developed for an eight-   unit schedule and will use a standard of 1000 total points.  Students will find common graded and non- graded learning activities present throughout the course.  Each unit will include:
